The first round of playoffs is in the books as all three higher seeds defeated the lower seeds two games to none in best of three series.
The #2 seeded Yorkton Yankees defeated the #7 Grandview Lakers 14-6 and 14-7
The #3 seed Willowbrook Royals won 14-0 and 11-1 over the #6 seeded Roblin Stars
The #4 seed Canora Supers defeated the #5 seed Back Forty Brewers 17-3 and 7-6
Round 2 matchups will also be a best of 3 series, with the higher seed getting the extra home game if required. The #1 seeded Langenburg Legends will take on the #4 seeded Canora Supers, and the #2 seeded Yorkton Yankees will take on Willowbrook.
For the first time since 2014, the regular season pennant winner will be a team other than the Yorkton Yankees as the Langenburg Legends have clinched 1st place in the regular season standings and will receive a bye into Round 2 of the playoffs. The Legends are 11-1-1 for 23 points. The next closest team can only get as high as 22 points
In 2014 the Swan River Reds were the regular season pennant winners by virtue of having the highest winning percentage. That regular season was shortened by the extraordinary amount of rainfall in the Parkland region.
