2019 Post Season update!
Posted August 21, 2019
Over the last few days the League Executive have been hard at work finalizing an adjusted format for the 2019 post season.
Unfortunately the undefeated Navy and defending champions Red are unable to field teams for the post season this year.
The new format of the post season this year pitts the 2nd place Grey Jays against upstart Orange in a best of 3 series over August 24th and 25th.
Orange started their season with some troubles, it wasn't until mid June before they would win their first game. They surged after that win, picking up 4 of their next six games. One of those losses was an incredibly narrow 4-2 loss to a Navy team that had routinely and soundly thrashed the competition. Orange's 4 and 8 record does not reflect what they have grown into over the course of the season.
The Grey Jays have not changed much in composition from last year's dominant squad, however they also struggled early in the season losing their first three games, scoring zero runs in the first two. They would start to come together and late in the season clawed their way into second place in the standings with a 5 and 7 record.
The Grey Jays have defeated Orange in all three contests in the regular season, but Orange did hold them to 6 runs in a tight 6-4 game on July 29th. Orange may be the underdog, but only by a slim margin.
This best of 3 series promises to be entertaining. Kamloops Minor Baseball Association will be running the concession at Norbrock Stadium, fan attendance is by donation.
