Five run outburst propels Dbacks to win over Giants

CAIRNS, SK – The Saskatoon Diamondbacks scored one run in their half of the first and then watched as the Saskatoon Giants scored five in a row to take a 5-1 lead midway through the fourth. The Dbacks then went to work scoring 3 in the bottom of the fourth and 5 in the bottom of the fifth to win the game 9 to 5. Justin Tehse started on the mound for the Dbacks going 2 innings giving up two runs on four hits with 2 K’s. Owen Lindberg pitched the next four allowing 3 runs on four hits with 1 walk and 3 K’s. Emmett Graham pitched the final inning clean.

Ryan Olchoway led the offence going 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs and a walk. Drayson Snell was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs while Erik Trakalo was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Nolan Machibroda was 2 for 4, Teeg Polson was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Garrett Krawchuk went 1 for 3. Connor Coverett also had an RBI.
